Need Help Choosing the Right Setup?
Choosing the right equipment depends on your application, material, and welding conditions.
- For more control and precision → use smaller components and tighter setups
- For more coverage and larger welds → use larger setups and higher gas flow
- For high-heat applications (like aluminum) → use materials designed to handle increased temperatures
- For tight spaces → use more compact profiles
If you’re unsure what you need, start with a complete setup or kit and build from there.

EDGE Coverage Cups – Laminar Flow Series
EDGE coverage cups are built for applications where gas coverage and control are critical. They use EDGE laminar flow technology for a wider, more stable shielding area.
Compared to traditional "flooding" style cups, they also improve efficiency in controlled welding applications.
Key Benefits
- Increased Gas Coverage – Larger cup sizes provide a wider shielding area for bigger welds
- Improved Flow Control – Laminar flow design stabilizes gas coverage across the weld zone
- Greater Efficiency – Optimized gas distribution can reduce gas usage by approximately 30% in controlled applications
- Cleaner Welds – More consistent shielding helps reduce contamination
- Enhanced Visibility – Clear glass design improves puddle visibility and control

Coverage Cups Geometry
#12 Narrow (Rectangular Outlet)
Designed for directional gas coverage. It functions as a #6 in one direction and a #12 in the other.
This makes it useful for tight or elongated weld areas and specialized applications such as orbital welding.
Material Options
- Pyrex (Borosilicate) – Ideal for stainless steel, titanium, and general welding applications
- Quartz (Available in #12 variants) – Designed for aluminum and high-heat applications where increased temperature resistance is required
Why Coverage Matters
As weld size and complexity increase, consistent shielding becomes harder to maintain. These products help expand the effective shielding area while keeping gas flow stable.
That added coverage helps protect the weld zone more effectively. It can also support more consistent results across larger welds.
Commonly referred to as "flooding" or "monster" cups, this series improves both coverage and gas efficiency through laminar flow control.
Laminar Flow Advantage
EDGE diffuser technology helps smooth and stabilize shielding gas flow. In controlled testing, it produces a uniform gas stream with minimal turbulence.
That allows improved coverage, greater tungsten stick out, and more consistent welding performance. The result is practical control without unnecessary complexity.
Designed for Real-World Welding
These products are commonly used for:
- Larger weld joints
- Pipe and fabrication work
- High gas coverage applications
- Stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, and aluminum welding

Compatibility
- Designed for use with EDGE adapters and laminar flow systems
- Compatible with standard and stubby gas lens setups (with proper components)
Important Notes
- Larger cups require proper gas flow setup for optimal performance
- Always ensure proper seating of adapter and cup
- Select material based on application (Pyrex or Quartz)
Optional Add-On
Pair with EDGE adapters, o-rings, and diffusers to complete your setup.
